Amorgos, “the island of deep blue”, is located southeast of the Cyclades. The name is supposed came from the plant “Amorgion”, a type of flax which was made the amorgides carmine tunics, product of excellent quality and technique.
From ancient times Amorgos was one of the most important centers of the Cycladic civilization. Its vivid traditional color is reflected in the scenic settlements and the lifestyle of the residents.
On the island of Amorgos, you can visit Chora, one of the most picturesque capitals in Cyclades. The visitor will be impressed by the Cycladic tradition, as well as the architecture of houses, the all-white churches, the little squares and the scenic narrow streets leading to the central square.

Amorgos has two harbors, Katapola and Aigiali where our rooms are located, just 150 meters from the beach, the largest sandy beach of the island. In Amorgos you can visit the three traditional picturesque Cycladic villages Tholaria, Lagadia anad Potamos with plenty of dining options in small taverns with excellent traditional dishes.
